Subject: Work-Life Net-Working Testimony
Hi John,
"I'd been receiving monthly invites to the Work-Life Net-Working Lunch, and each time I thought that I should go. Without fail, the day came and went each month and I always found something more pressing that needed to be done. That all changed in September of 2009 when I watched a short video that John posted on facebook. I must have watched that video four times that morning. Who thought God would use facebook to deliver a message that seemed to be tailor-made for me. I sure didn't expect it.
Along with the video, there was, of course, an invite to that month's lunch. I committed at that moment that nothing would be more important this time around. Without going into the specifics of what was said and why, I felt more connected to a table full of strangers in 10 minutes than I do to people I know very well. The next hour and a half was an incredible experience for me. If you're waiting for me to explain the big ah-ha moment or an amazing transformation, you've got it all wrong. It wasn't that at all. For me, the power of the lunch was to be able to spend some time with people who believe the their Faith plays an important role in their businesses and their lives. People were open about their fears, emotions, hopes and challenges. I walked away energized and inspired. It was refreshingly different from most business lunches I've been to. In an hour and a half, the Work-Life Net-Working lunch went from a "if I have time" event to a "I'm going to make time event."
